Top Coats: The Best Winter Warmers

It’s almost November…but before we get excited about fireworks and collecting pennies for the guy, there should be just enough time to give your winter wardrobe a quick MOT. We’ve already talked about shoe trends, and the all-important ladylike vibe. Now, it’s time to consider the crowning glory of every winter wardrobe – the coat. Always a key purchase, a coat has to be versatile, wearable, lovable and comfortable. And that’s a lot to ask of any piece of clothing.  So, let’s start with a   practical solution and then move into the exciting realm of statement chic.

The Natural
Camel is so this season. And with Iden, a classic dress coat with flawless proportions, Hobbs doesn’t disappoint. It’s ideal for the office and teamed with skinny black trousers and a black cashmere polo-neck it will be just as stylish as weekend wear.

Cape Daring
Capes are fun, remarkable and potentially hide a multitude of sins. If you have any to hide that is. Camel is a vintage classic. But this season Top Shop has done one in navy with a faux shearling collar that says hello gorgeous like nothing else.

Shearling Chic
Shearling is definitely this year’s dream coat. And there’s plenty to choose from. For starters, this Phillip Lim coat, available from Net-A-Porter, makes a big statement. Or you could head over to Zara’s new site and check out this lambskin studio coat. It would make even the most casual outfit a little more exciting.

Of course, the sunglasses are the easy part. Bold is big trend this season and we suggest something glamorous and feminine from our range to get you through the winter months, and a surprise selection of ours is the no-longer-just-for-sports Oakley sunglasses. They have been coming out with increasingly fashionable ranges for some years now, and are definitely worth a look. So, those are our best picks, but what’s on your list this season?
