What it is like to own a condo in Charoen Nakhon?

What are Condos?

A condominium, or as it is called a “condo” for short, is a type of living space that is similar to an apartment but is regarded as real estate and is independently sellable. The building structure is constructed similar to an apartment and is divided into various units and they are all separately owned by people. They are surrounded by similar areas and are owned and maintained by a neighborhood association.

Even though residential condominiums are constructed as apartment buildings, an increased number of “detached condominiums” is also seen. They have a resemblance to a single-family home with yards, building exteriors, corridors, and streets, and recreational facilities.

Even though they are similar to apartments there are quite a few differences:

  • Condos are not leased or rented but sold and bought.
  • The owners also own all the other areas of the properties like the hallways, laundry rooms, walkways, HVAC systems, elevators, etc.
  • While an apartment usually offers around the clock free maintenance, you are responsible for your leaky toilets and other repairs in your condo.

Here is how it is to own a condo in Chareon Nakhon:

  • Accommodation:

Condo Charoennakorn (คอนโด เจริญนคร, which is also the term in Thai) has a lot of beautiful condos available that you can buy at a reasonable price. Apart from the spacious rooms, the place can also offer a stunning view of the river and the whole city. The River Condominium has 838 units which will cost you 25,000/month for the basic price.

  • Transport:

Condo Charoennakorn is well connected through the BTS Krung Thonburi (Green) and Chareon Nakhon (Golden) line. Or if you want, you can travel by water and get off at Wat Suwan, Klong San, or IconSiam piers. Taxi and other forms of private services are also available.

  • Drinks:

A pint of beer is mandatory after a tiring day of work. For beer enthusiasts and common folk alike, there are a lot of good places to hop on to if you’re looking for great beer. The 14th Barrel is a shop that offers a selection of local and imported beers along with some fusion food like duck breast spaghetti. Other places like ‘Save Our Souls’, ‘Three Sixty Souls’, and more offer a relaxing time with your mates over beer.

  • Food:

Chareon Nakhon is famous for its mouth-watering street food. You can either try the exquisite street food it offers or tries some traditional and luxurious restaurants located in the area.
