Tips to prepare for NEET 2017 Biology

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2017 will be held on May 7 and medical aspirants all over the country are beside themselves with excitement and apprehension for the upcoming exam. NEET 2017 will be conducted in only one phase as opposed to 2016 when it was conducted in two phases. However, that was mainly because the government, along with the Supreme Court, had just announced that all state PMTs will be replaced by NEET and all medical colleges will come under the purview of that one single exam. This decision has led to the increased number of seats on one hand and on increased competition on the other. It will be interesting how the students will fare in NEET 2017.

When it comes to the NEET 2017 syllabus, Biology is by far the easiest and the most scoring. It also consumes the least amount of time to finish so it is always recommended to attempt Biology first. Some students even manage to score 320+ out of 360 in NEET Biology in the past! And, with a little guidance in the right direction, you can too!

Be aware with the important chapters and identify your weak concepts. Then keep practising those weak concepts till you have a strong hold over them.

NCERT books

Most questions in previous years were based on NCERT books. Concepts are properly explained at the basics and simplified to retain them better.

Relentless revision

Don’t stop at studying. Keep revising and keep practising. Make it a point to practice tests on multiple choice questions to improve your understanding of various concepts.

Previous years’ papers

Get your hands on NEET previous years papers, answer keys and solutions. This is one of the best and most effective ways to prepare for any exam.

Regular mock tests

Taking mock tests will help in many ways – to get used to the exam pattern, to know important chapters and FAQs, and to build confidence.
